18 Minute Interval Swipe

Inspired by NYC activist group campaigns like “No Fare Hikes (OWS)”, “PTP (People’s Transportation Program)”, and “Swipe Back”, who offered free MetroCard swipes to people when the MTA fare hike disproportionately affected the working class between 2009 and 2013, the artist will share her Unlimited MetroCard every 18 minutes in 14th Street subway stations without any cash transactions. The objective for this performance project is to recall the sentiment of community “survival programs”.
