Road Kill Stuffed Animals: Endangered Species

Animals are increasingly threatened by climate change, as the effects of overconsumption remain unbalanced. The artist installs endangered species stuffed animals filled with shredded junk mail, plastic bags, and disposable clothing along 14th Street. By placing these stuffed animals in the Meatpacking district of New York City, now a hub for high-end retail boutiques and fine dining, this installation calls attention to the ever-changing cityscape and the long-distance effects on natural habitats due to consumerism. The artist’s intent is to raise awareness for endangered species and the need to implement sustainable environmental practices.
