Free Slurpee, 7-Eleven Intervention

This work focuses on the monopoly of chain stores in NYC and the demise of mom and pop shops. This street-video-projection and performance investigates the corporate-makeover-culture that presumes a branding of the neighborhood. This model of identity, image, and economy is also what we export globally. The piece includes conversations with people about their memories of places, stories about neighborhoods, and connections to local establishments. Stop by and chat with us!
